Spirit-Forged Stones

When Sundered Spirits Dream

Spirit-Forged Stones

Book 1

Planned publication date: September 29, 2026

A noble in hiding.

A brother following an impossible trail.

A madman driven by revenge.

Under the Spirit Council's rigid laws, being born a princess means surrendering your future to duty. When a violent abduction gives one young noble the chance to disappear, they seize it. Adopting the name Dearal, they exchange courtly obligations for the anonymity of the stables and conceal their magic. To claim a life that finally feels like their own, they choose a gender shift to realign body and spirit, embracing the freedom denied to their noble birth.

The life Dearal builds begins to unravel when an unexpected friendship with a young noble deepens into something neither of them can afford. If the Council uncovers Dearal’s true identity, they will lose not only their freedom, but the magic that has become part of who they are. Meanwhile, Prince Tharon refuses to believe his missing twin is dead, following a fading trail across land and sea.

Tharon’s search leads him into the hands of a man harvesting magic from the innocent to fuel a war of revenge. As the Spirit Council tightens its grip on the kingdom, the sanctuary Dearal fought to build is reduced to ashes, and the past they escaped comes searching for them once more.

Is it truly freedom if they must hide who they are to achieve it?

Content Notes

For readers who prefer to know what’s coming, these notes offer advanced knowledge and thus contain spoilers. Does the dog die? This book does not feature any dogs, but rest assured, the cat and owl companions remain in good health. Sadly, a horse receives burns in a fire, and several unnamed pigs die during battle. Is this a kissing book? Yes, this story contains plenty of yearning, kissing, and implied romantic interactions. It does not feature any on-page sex. If enough of my readers ask for it, I may offer a high-heat scene to those who join The Order. The story explores themes of trans dysphoria and euphoria in a fantasy realm that normalizes transgender identities and allows them to flourish within certain classes. I am not issuing this as a warning, but rather as a pledge that transgender characters in this story do not experience direct harm or discrimination simply because they are trans. Be aware, the manuscript depicts the deaths of several unnamed youths, graphic injuries received during battle, accidental incest, instances of unintentional misgendering and deadnaming, amnesia, and pregnancy.
